David A. Goheen

David Albert Goheen, Sr., 58, died of natural causes September 26th at 5:10 pm in his Reading residence.

He was the husband of Johanna Mary (George) Goheen, whom he married August 26, 1972.

Born in Reading on March 21, 1948, he was a son of the late Albert Charles and Helen Pauline (Schlegel) Goheen.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

David was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a 1967 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and attended Reading Area Community College.

David was employed for over 30 years as an HVAC technician for various local companies.

He also was the owner/operator of Dave's Vacuums in Pottstown and Boyertown from 1979 thru 1984.

David was a past scout master of troop #358 of St. Catharine's of Siena, Mount Penn and a Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol, Squadron #811 at the Reading Regional Airport.

He was also a member of Central Fire Company, Laureldale and of Pike Township Sportsman Association.

David is also survived by his son, David A. Goheen, Jr., of Reading.

Other survivors include several nieces and nephews and one great niece.

He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis E. (Turner) Sikora, who died in 1999.

Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale with the Rev. Grant A. Wickert officiating. Viewing will be Friday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
