David B. Gernert

David B. Gernert, 68, died in the care of Promedica Manor Care Nursing Home in Lebanon, PA on the evening of Sunday, January 9, 2022.

He is survived by his three daughters: Stephanie Didget, wife of Bruce Didget of Schuylkill Haven; Jennifer Gernert of Schuylkill Haven; and Melissa Kraemer, wife of Robert Kraemer of Shoemakersville, PA; and his sister, Cheryl Gernert Gallo and brother-in-law, Roger Gallo, of Wyomissing, PA.

David was the son of the late Warren F. Gernert and Evelyn J. Gernert (nee Bevers) of Reading. He was recently predeceased by his wife Marianne L. Gernert and his brother Darren L. Gernert, both of Lebanon. He had 16 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Born in West Reading and raised in Muhlenberg Township, he attended Muhlenberg High School and was employed by Dietrich's Dairy Products for 30 years. David enjoyed RV camping with friends and family. He was an avid motorcyclist and classic car enthusiast. He was an expert on fixing any kind of engine and could tell the make and model of any classic car. He possessed an extensive collection of both model cars and motorcycles. Dave's former boss called him, "a kind soul and an anomaly in a sometimes-rowdy Teamster's plant."
