David Franklin Moyer, 89, of Richmond Township, died September 23, 2011 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township.
He was the husband of Martha E. (Heffner) Moyer who died July 21, 2008.
Born January 6, 1922 in Richmond Township, he was a son of the late Herbert S. and Hannah (Heffner) Moyer.
David was a 1939 graduate of Fleetwood High School.
He was employed as a tool maker with Kutztown Foundry and Machine for 49 years.
David was a lifetime, faithful member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood, where he had perfect attendance for over 50 years and 25 years perfect attendance at his previous church.
He served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
David was an accomplished woodworker and spent many hours in his wood shop creating a variety of fine furniture, especially taking pride in his grandfather clocks. He was also well known in the community for his beautifully crafted wooden easter eggs.
Surviving are two cousins, Eleanor Dreibelbis and Mary Jane Anderson and a sister-in-law Irene Moyer of Reading.
David was predeceased by a brother, Clarence W. Moyer.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service in the church. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's Chuch at the above address.
