David S. Diehl, Sr., 90, of Spring Township, passed away January 16, 2018, in the Reading Hospital.
He was the widower of Lois Ross, Dorothy Herzog and Fern Styer.
Born in Minersville, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Berrett) Diehl.
He was a graduate of Minersville High School.
David was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII.
He was employed as a finance specialist for more than 30 years for Public Finance.
David was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.
He was an avid golfer and world traveler. David was a proud Republican delegate with a strong interest in politics.
David was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by two sons: Randall R., husband of Lori Madara, Muhlenberg Township; and David S., Jr., husband of Betsy Diehl, Frederick, MD. Four grandchildren: Mehgan, wife of Matt Epler; Abigail Madara, all of Muhlenberg Township; Brittany Diehl, Denver CO; and Hannah Diehl, Washington, DC; two great- grandsons: Ryan and John Epler; one nephew, Larry Diehl and two nieces: Christine Bossert and Kay Melchi also survive him.
David was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence H. Diehl in 2005.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave, West Lawn, PA 19609. Burial will be private at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David's name to West Lawn U.M. Church at the above address. Edward J.
