David B. Born

David B. Born, 89, passed away on September 30, 2024, in his Brecknock Township residence. He was the widower of Carole P. Born neé Bausher, who passed away on August 1, 2024. Highschool sweethearts, they shared 67 years of marriage.

Born in his childhood home on Gregg Ave. in Reading to the late Irwin. and Dorothy (Brunner) Born, David graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1955.

He retired from the Dana Corporation after 30 years as a Machinist Tool Maker.

A devout Philadelphia Sports fan, David faithfully followed the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers. His favorite season was Christmas, and he treasured time spent with his family on his tree farm.

David was a loving husband to Carole, a proud father to his children, and a supportive grandfather to his grandchildren.

David's memory will be treasured by his children; Christopher D. Born of Mohnton; Shawn P. Born (Lauren) of Exeter; Devin A. Born (Crystal) of Sinking Spring; and Tricia M. Born of Hamburg; 11 grandchildren; and one expected great grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Donald Born.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611, with committal to follow at Alleghenyville Union Cemetery.
