David A. Sands

David A. Sands, 80, passed away October 4, 2023, in his Spring Township residence.

He was the loving husband of Patricia A. (Cassler) Sands.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Claude and Ora Koch.

He was a 1960 graduate of Reading High School.

David was employed by Dana Corporation for many years as a tow motor operator.

A devout Catholic, David was a long-time member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

David was a dedicated golfer who achieved numerous accolades and devoted a significant amount of his time to Willow Hollow Golf Course. He exemplified a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility, having started from humble beginnings and successfully built a prosperous life through unwavering determination and adherence to his core values. Additionally, he displayed unwavering commitment as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael A. Sands; his brother; Nelson Sands; four grandchildren: Dannielle N. Peters, David Sands, Anthony Sands, and Kyle Sands; and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca Peters and Shawn Peters, Jr.

He was predeceased by two sons, David Anthony Sands and Jeffrey Allen Sands; and two siblings, Debbie Sands and Bruce Sands.

A Prayer Service will be Thursday October 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be private. A visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, 42 Kerrick Rd, Shillington, PA 19607.
