Daniel S. Ostrowski, 91,of Reading, formerly of Wyoming, PA, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017.
He was the beloved husband of Helen M. (Peeler) Ostrowski, whom he married September 3, 1949.
Born in Wyoming, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Valeria (Koloushefski) Ostrowski.
Daniel attended Wyoming High School, Wyoming, PA.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the European, Pacific and American Theaters from 1943 through 1947. He also proudly served aboard the S.S. John R. Pierce.
Daniel was a machinist for many years, last working at Gent. J. Manufacturing, Plymouth, PA.
He was a very loving and caring man who was always there for his family. Daniel was genuinely a kind man and was liked by everyone who met him.
In addition to his wife Helen, Daniel is also survived by one daughter; Nancy L. MacKay, Muhlenberg Twp., and a sister; Rose Gadomski, Wyoming, PA. A grandson, John C., husband of Valerie E. Marmo, two great grandchildren; Vita C. and Aria E. Marmo, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive him.
Daniel was predeceased by his son in law, William H. MacKay, on July 9, 2016, and four siblings: Frances Sims, Sophie Patrick, Robert Ostrowski, and Francis Ostrowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 12 noon, in St. Monica R.C. Church, 363 W 8th St, West Wyoming, PA 18644. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery, West Wyoming, PA. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the Mass in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Monica R.C. Church at the above address. Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Temple, is in charge of arrangements.
