Daniel F. Loftus

Daniel F. "Dino" Loftus, 60, Shillington, died of natural causes Sept. 23 at 9:45 p.m. in ManorCare Health Services Inc., West Reading, where he had been a patient since July 29.

His wife, Carol Loftus, died in January 1996.

Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was an adopted son of Josephine DaLucio, Staten Island.

Loftus was a professional musician most of his life, last working in the Reading area with the Dick Wein Band of Fancy Brass.

He was a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, New York City.

Loftus, who resided with Marian R. Jordan, is also survived by two stepsons, Anthony and Vincent Volpe, both of Manhattan.

Memorial services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale.
