Daniel B. Berube

Daniel B. Berube, 72, died January 14, 2014, in his Wyomissing residence. He waged a brief and courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.

Born in Reading on May 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Oliver and Cecelia (Szajna) Berube. He served proudly in the US Army from March 1960 to March 1963. Daniel was a member of the Sinking Spring Veterans Home Association and a life member of Liberty Fire Co. #1 of Sinking Spring. He retired from Reading Bakery Systems, Robesonia, PA in May 2005 and last worked at Car Quest in Sinking Spring.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Ruth (Miller) Berube, was the loving father of Leanne (Berube), wife of Earl J. Leininger, of Laureldale, and step-father of Angela (Fierro), wife of Charles G. Krick of Lititz; Denise Fierro of Yankton, South Dakota, and Paula D. (Fierro), wife of William C. Glasmyre, of Mohnton. He took great joy in his granddaughters, Lauren and Jessica Leininger, and 10 step-grandchildren Brendan, Marian and Carter Krick, Eric Fierro, Max and Amairis Carrion, Carly, Sydney, Mallory and Adrian Glasmyre, as well as a step-greatgranddaughter, Amelia Fierro. There is one sister, Marian Binkley of Muhlenberg Township and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Frederick Berube, Arthur Berube and Oliver Berube, and three sisters, Jeannette Bialek, Blanche D'Alessio, and Nancy M. Scheib.

He will long be remembered by all who know him as a kind and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and good friend to all, especially dogs.

Services will be at the convenience of the family; interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
