Daniel L. Behler

Daniel L. Behler, 93 of Bernville died June 25, 2017 in the Lebanon Veterans Administration Hospital. He was the widower of Geraldine F. (Renninger) Behler who died March 21, 2008. Daniel was born in McKeansburg, Schuylkill County and was the son of the late Elmer H. and Olive P. (Koch) Behler.   He was a 1941 graduate of Hamburg High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Daniel was employed at F.O. Lippold & Sons Greenhouse, Leesport for 42 years, retiring in 1988. He last worked as a foreman for Lippold's. He was a life member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg and a member of its consistory for many years. Daniel is survived by his children: Diane (Behler) Hartz, Sinking Spring with whom he resided, Curtis husband of Cynthia Behler, Bethel, Marlin husband of Linda Behler, Bern Township, grandchildren: Kristin (Behler) Conley, Joshua Behler, Jessica (Hartz) Lopez, Michele (Capion) Russell, Matthew Capion, Andrea Behler, and Daniel Behler and eight great-grandchildren. One brother, Kenneth husband of Loretta Behler, Deer Lake survives Daniel. A daughter predeceased him: Eileen (Behler) Capion on January 25, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3 rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4 th Street, Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
