Dale L. Shelly, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2016, in his Wyomissing residence.

He was the loving husband of Nancy M. (Moyer) Shelly, and celebrated 32 years of marriage on April 28, 2016.

Born in Penn Twp, Lancaster County, he was the son of the late John and Stella (Haldeman) Shelly.

Dale was employed by Raybestos/ Raymark and later by VF Corporation.

He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where he was an usher.

A lover of the outdoors, Dale had a passion for hunting and fishing, especially geese and ducks. Cooking was also very important to him, which led him to write a cookbook entitled, "Original Wild Game, Fish, and Seafood Recipes". He enjoyed attending numerous sportsmen events and expos, providing samples from his cookbook. Dale was a lifetime member of the NRA, as well as many other sporting affiliation.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Elvin, husband of Linda Shelly, Denver, PA; and Richard, husband of JoAnn Shelly, Ocean Pines, MD. Also surviving are two nephews, Doug Miller and John Shelly; three nieces, Susan Voss, Lynn Newcomb and Leanne Altemose, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by both his sister,Gloria Miller and her husband, David Miller.

Services will be Thursday, September 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St, Reading, PA 19601, Parking is available at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel parking garage at 5th and Court Streets. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal at the above address or White Oak Chruch of the Brethren,1211 N Penryn Rd, Manheim, PA 17545. Edward J.
