Dale P. Kite

Dale P. "Pops" Kite, 64, of Shillington passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Reading Hospital. He was a child of the late James A. Jr and Virginia (Giles) Kite.

Pops graduated from Muhlenberg High School. A jack of all trades, he worked in many roles throughout his working life, but his favorite was as a direct sales consultant for Shaklee, an environmentally-minded producer of vitamins and other health goods.

Pops loved to be in nature, and he loved to tell stories. He always had good advice to share and wisdom to give. A social, easy-going man, Pops enjoyed time spent with people. Even when his health was at its worst, he still had a smile for anyone he met. He just wanted people to be happy. Above all things he treasured going on backyard adventures with his grandson.

Pops' final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. This generous act will touch the lives of as many as 100 people.

Pops is survived by his daughter, Malees A., wife of Scott M. Hays, of Shillington; his grandson, Cole D. Hays, of Shillington; sisters Sandy Bricker and Colleen Foltz; and Luis Fabian Negron, of Reading, who was like a brother. He is also survived by his former wife, Lisa A. Mohler, and her son, Bryan.

He is predeceased by his brother, James A. Kite III.

Friends and family are invited to a casual gathering celebrating Dale's life on Saturday, February 1, 2020, starting at 2 pm at the family home. Please call Malees at 610.406.3867 for directions.
