D. Alice Kelly

D. Alice (Ritzel) Kelly, 89, of Lincoln Park, passed away October 26, 2012 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Joseph Eugene Kelly who died March 8, 2010.

Born February 2, 1923 in Westover, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward J., Sr. and Dorothy Lee (Ford) Ritzel.

Alice was a graduate of Washington High School, Princess Anne, MD and Mt. St. Agnes Junior College, Baltimore, MD.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, reading and traveling, especially to New England and Ocean City, MD. Her main passion, however, was spending time with her family.

Alice was very active with Prospectus, now Prospectus-Berco.

She was a member of St. John de a Salle Roman Catholic Church, Cumru Township.

Surviving are her seven children: Maureen A., wife of Bert Mileski of Reading; Catharine M. Kelly of Glenolden; Jane F., wife of David Trupe of Hamburg; Michael E., husband of Shelley Kelly of Sinking Spring; William E. Kelly, Lincoln Park; Kevin J., husband of Mary Beth Kelly of Sinking Spring and Christopher J. Kelly of Sinking Spring.

Other survivors include eight grandchildren: Gregory Sarig, Vicki McCormick, Keri Kelly, Kristen Kline, Kurtis Kelly, Kyle Kelly, Andrew Trupe and Steven Trupe.

There are ten great grandchildren.

Alice was predeceased by a brother Edward J. Ritzel and a grandson, Matthew Kelly.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Gethsemane's Chapel of St. George. Entombment will follow, in the mausoleum.
