Dr. Cyril V. Leddy, Sr., 97, Spring Township and Bonita Springs FL, passed away August 12, 2008 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
His wife, Edythe L. (McMullen) Leddy died in 1975.
Born in Port Carbon, he was the son of the late James P. and Anne F. (Driscoll) Leddy.
He was a graduate of St. Stephen's High School in 1928 and Temple Dental School in 1938, where he was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (honor society).
Dr. Leddy owned and operated his dental practice in Reading for over 50 years, retiring in 1987. He was also a past president of the Berks County Dental Society, the American Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry (Fellowship).
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Dr. Leddy was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army with the rank of Major.
Survivors include his two sons, Dr. Cyril V., husband of Carol Leddy, Spring Twp. and Dr. Michael P., husband of Nancy Leddy, St. Lawrence; and his two daughters, Dr. Anne L., wife of Dr. H. Alexander Wilson, Newport News, VA and Dr. Cheryl L., wife of James Thornton, Gladwyne and ten grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading Monday at 9 a.m for a time of family remembrances. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
