Cynthia "Cindy" L. Duggan, 68, of Reading, passed away peacefully at Reading Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Reading, Cindy was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Lawrence) Duggan. She was proud graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School, Class of 1975.
Cindy dedicated 50 years of her career as a manager at various McDonald's locations throughout Reading where she was known for her strong work ethic and her steady leadership.
Above all else, Cindy cherished her family. She shared 44 beautiful years with her wife, Jodie Michewicz. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, resilience, and unconditional love. She was a proud mother to her daughter, Beth, and Grammy to Aislyn and Alex, whose life and happiness meant the world to her. Cindy especially treasured their vacations to Disney, where she delighted in the magic, the memories made with family and friends, and most of all, her favorite character, Goofy. She also loved the beach and looked forward each year to family trips to the Outer Banks and Myrtle Beach, where she found peace by the ocean and joy in the simple moments spent together along the shore. She was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and rarely missed a game, proudly cheering on her team each season.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Duggan; her cherished grandchildren, Aislyn Martin and Alexander Rivera; her siblings, Eileen (Duggan) Blekicki and her husband John, Linda (Duggan) Lott, Sharon (Duggan) Schaeffer and her husband Michael, and Patrick Duggan and his wife Lynne; and her many dear nieces and nephews: Sara Blekicki; Julie (Blekicki) Luft and her husband Michael; Megan and Derryck Lott; Lindsay (Schaeffer) Carlson and her husband Benjamin; Ryan Schaeffer; Lauren (Schaeffer) Herring and her husband Matthew; Michael Schaeffer and his wife Rachel; Irene (Duggan) Rodriguez and her husband Nicolas; Abbigail (Duggan) Graber and her wife Alicia; Hannah Duggan; and Isabella Duggan.
Cindy also leaves behind a treasured circle of great-nieces and great-nephews: Ethan Hyman; Nora Blekicki; Braiden and Emma Luft; Joseph Monderewicz; Ryan Schaeffer; Stella and Sophie Carlson; Tessa Herring; Evelyn, Emma, Michael, and Mabel Schaeffer; and Jailese and Thalia Rodriguez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, David Duggan and Joseph Duggan; and her nephew, Jared Lott.
Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the community she served, and the countless lives she touched.
In accordance with her wishes, services will be private.
