Curtis William Buchert

Curtis William Buchert, 78, died February 17, 2014 in his Temple residence.

He was the husband of Rose Marie (Morganti) Buchert whom he married July 30, 1955.

Born October 24, 1935 in Reading, he was a son of the late Wilson Lloyd and Mary Elizabeth (Dreas) Buchert.

Curtis was employed in the steel industry, having worked for Bethlehem Steel, Reading Body Works and Eastern Machine, where he retired from in 1997.

He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

Curtis loved birdwatching, hunting, fishing, going to casinos and vacationing with his wife.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three children: Joseph W., husband of Sandra L. Buchert of Temple; Debra A., wife of Richard J. Dietrich of Temple and Gina M., wife of Robert W. Cavanna of Muhlenberg Townshp.

Other survivors include his three siblings: Wilson Buchert of Temple, Margaret Wentzel of Pottstown and Catherine Stamm of Lenhartsville.

Also surviving are six grandchildren: Joseph Buchert, Jr., Ryan Shuman, Jennifer Buchert, William Shuman, Richard Dietrich, II and Kaitlin Dietrich and 11 great grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township
