Cory James Scholar

Cory James Scholar, 39, passed away February 22, 2018, after a long battle with addiction, in his Bern Township residence.

Born in Reading, he was the son of J. Robert Scholar II and the late Lindy E. Scholar.

He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Elizabeth Scholar; one sister, Lisa Vespico and step-mother, Sandy Scholar.

Cory attended Schuylkill Valley High School and Penn State University - Berks Campus.

He worked as a construction worker for 20 years and was last employed by Steve Kemper Builders.

Cory will be sadly missed by many for his spirit, personality, love of animals, but most importantly his love for his niece, Chelsey Thenga, nephews, Jordan Thenga, Trevor Thenga and Spencer Thenga, cousin, Miles Levesque and his precious daughter.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
