Cornelius J. O'Brien

Cornelius J. O'Brien, Jr., 70, of Spring Township died June 29, 2008 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

He was the husband of Janice L. (Gretz) O'Brien.

Born January 8, 1938 in Reading, he was a son of the late Cornelius J., Sr. and Helen D. (Sauer) O'Brien.

Cornelius was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1955, LaSalle College in 1959 and Drexel University in 1973 where he received an MBA.

He was employed by the former Western Electric, Muhlenberg Township where he retired from after working for 43 years.

Cornelius was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Kathleen L. (O'Brien), wife of Michael S. Reinhart of Radnor, PA and their children, Conor, Christopher, Elizabeth and Natalie; Aileen E. O'Brien of Middletown, CT; Margaret A. O'Brien of Manhatten NY; Cornelius J., III., husband of Jodi O'Brien of Pittsburgh, PA and their children Cornelius R., Maximillian and Scarlet and Terrance M., husband of Allison O'Brien of Havertown, PA, and their children Anna and Emily.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Reading Dialysis who cared for Mr. O'Brien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading.
