Colleen Mae Schmehl

Colleen Mae (Holohan) Schmehl, 56, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer in her Ontelaunee Township residence April 3, 2008 at 6:45 am with her husband by her side.

She was the loving wife of Ronald James Schmehl, whom she married June 10, 1972.

Born in Pottsville, Schuylkill County on May 27, 1951, she was a daughter of Dolores Mae (Williams) Holohan of Schuylkill Haven and the late Edward Francis Holohan.

She was a 1969 graduate of St. Clair High School.

Colleen was employed as an administrative assistant with Merrill Lynch, Allentown for 15 years and later in the same capacity for 8 years with Butterworth Financial, Wyomissing.

She was also employed for the past several years as a sales associate with Cabela's, Tilden Township, last working March 16, 2008.

Colleen is also survived by her daughter, Stephanie Ann (Schmehl) wife of Christopher M. Jones of Fleetwood, their daughter and Grammy's Little Angel, Olivia M. Jones.

Other survivors include three siblings; Edward F. Jr., husband of Jeanette M. (Alessi) Holohan of Northampton, PA; Donald W. husband of Antoinette (Budwash) Holohan of Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County and Vanessa D. (Holohan) wife of Gene S. Surmacz of Lewisberry, York County.

Colleen will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.

She had a passion for gardening and loved animals, especially her dog, Sage and her cat, Emmy.

Services will be Sunday at 7:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Sunday 5:30 pm until time of services. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
