Clement Frederick Lawson, Jr., 84, died peacefully November 13, 2014 in his Muhlenberg Township home.
He was the husband of Joan (Gismervik) Lawson for 63 years. They were married September 7, 1952.
Born May 14, 1930 in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Clement Frederick, Sr. and Gertrude Anna (Bushing) Lawson.
Clement was a 1948 graduate of Oceanside High School, Oceanside, NY and a 1952 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
He sailed with the United Fruit Company from 1952-1955. He then worked for IBM in sales and finally as a Branch Manager before retiring in 1987.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: Kathryn L., wife of Jack A. Hoy of Muhlenberg Township and Jeffrey M., husband of Diane M. Lawson of Easton and his daughter-in-law, Ileana Newkam, of Camp Hill, PA. He was predeceased by two sons, Kevin J. Lawson who died in 1989 and Keith J. Lawson who died in 1993.
Other survivors include his six grandchildren: Court, husband of Jen Lawson, Bradley Lawson, Adam Hoy, Abigail Hoy, Matthew Lawson and Anna Lawson.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, November 28 at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Alban's Drive, (Whitfield) Reading, PA 19608. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
