Claudis Stevenson

Claudis Stevenson, 84, of Reading, died January 31, 2011 in ManorCare, West Reading.

He was the husband of Wilma J. (Graham) Stevenson.

Born in Vinton, LA, he was a son of the late Willie and Stella (Washington) Stevenson.

Claudis was a construction worker for Laborers Union Local 471 until his retirement.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII.

Claudis was a member of Hopewell Mennonite Church, Reading.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Claudis Stevenson, Jr., Beaumont, TX; Leroy Davis, Reading; Fred Davis, Reading, William Davis, Reading; his step-son, Michael Graham, Reading; his daughters: Willie Mae Stevenson, Beaumont, TX; Stella M. Stevenson, Reading; Patricia L. Stevenson, Reading; Claudia M. Belk, Reading; Maxine Trusdale, Reading and Rose Davis, Reading. Also surviving are his seven siblings: Louis Johnson, Lancaster; Alvin Johnson, Beaumont, TX; Felton Stevenson, CA; Willie Mae, widow of Walter Thomas, Reading; Esther M., wife of Lynell Williams, Sulphur, LA; Eleanor, wife of Joseph Holmes, Vinton, LA and Mary Ann Stevenson, CA. There are 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins surviving

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap, Annville. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
