Clarence H. Roesch, 91, of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, passed away March 28, 2017, in WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was the husband of Helen R. (Owens) Roesch who passed away in March of 2008.

Born in Egg Harbor, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Heumann) Roesch.

Clarence was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New Holland and a member of the St. Benedict's Prime Time Senior Club.

Clarence was a graduate of Rutgers University and was employed by the former Egg Harbor, New Jersey bank where he was recognized as outstanding young banker. He joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia as a bank examiner and later became Vice President and Chief Auditor for the former American Bank in Reading, Pa, which later became Meridian Bank, until his retirement in 1989. He was acknowledged in Marqui's Who's Who in America.

After retirement, Clarence served as parish secretary for St. Benedict Church in Mohnton for ten years. He belonged to many civic and business organizations. He served as an officer and board member for Reading- Berks Camp Fire for 18 years, receiving various awards; including the Luther Halsey Gulick designation, for outstanding service to Camp Fire. He also served on the budget committee of the Berks County Chapter United Way. He taught banking classes at Albright College and the University of Richmond in Virginia.

He was an instructor for the AARP 55 alive safe driving program and was recognized as a corporate volunteer by Meridian Bank. Clarence was the past president of the Atlantic County New Jersey and the Penn-Jersey Chapters of the Bank Administration Institute. He received exceptional member of the year award from the Springlawn Optimist Club.

He is survived by three daughters: Kathleen M., wife of Wesley Vanaman, Chester County; Helena "Pat", wife of Michael Haller, Lititz; Maryanne C., wife of Gregory Grose, Marietta, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Garden Spot Village Retirement Community, 433 S Kinzer Ave, New Holland, PA 17557. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Cherry Hill, N.J. at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday, March 31, 2017, from 6:00-8:00pm. In Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave. West Reading, PA 19611 and Saturday, April 1, from 10- 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Garden Spot Village Retirement Community. Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 150 Walter St., New Holland, PA 17557 or the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund at the above address.
