Clarence E. Musket, 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 22 at The Highlands of Wyomissing, where he lived for the past 18 years. He was the loving husband of Irene M. (Bacon) Musket, who passed away January 7, 2000.
Born January 11, 1924 in Reading, Clarence was a son of the late Morgan and Katie R. (Gift) Musket. He was the last of their 11 children: Morgan Musket, Daniel Musket, William Musket, Charles Musket, Mae Musket Adams, Ralph Musket, Esther Musket Fulmer, Earl Musket, Kathryn Musket Wurster and Raymond Musket.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and enjoyed holiday picnics with his family. His nephew Dan Wurster provided support and care for the past 25 years.
A 1943 graduate of Reading High School, Clarence graduated from the General Motors Institute in 1947. Later in life he continued his education at the State University of New York, Oswego, earning both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. He started his career as an auto mechanic in Reading and finished his career as an Educator in Rochester, NY, working for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES).
Clarence served his nation valiantly in the US Army during World War II. He enjoyed traveling with his wife on numerous trips, old B&W movies, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles.
His family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers at The Highlands, Assured Assistance and Heartland Hospice Care.
A Memorial Service for Clarence will be held Friday, April 27 at 10:30am at the Laureldale Cemetery Chapel, Tuckerton Road and Pottsville Pike, Tuckerton. Friends may call at the Chapel one half-hour prior to the ceremony, beginning at 10:00. Burial will follow at Laureldale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Clarence's name can be made to the American Heart Association, Lehigh Valley and Northeast Division, 968 Postal Road, Ste 110, Allentown, PA 18109.
