Clarence E. Bieber

Clarence Eugene Bieber, 89, died January 21, 2013 in his Oley Township residence.

He was married June 18, 1949 to Mabel Edna (Haas) Bieber, who died May 31, 2003.

Born in Oley, PA on August 14, 1923, he was a son of the late Clarence Bieber and Edna S. (Herbein) Dierolf.

He was an Army Veteran of WWII.

Clarence was a life-time member of Christ Lutheran Church, Spangsville.

He was employed 44 years as a painter in the finishing department with Boyertown Auto Body Works, retiring in 1985.

Clarence later worked part-time for over 15 years with the former Daniel R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Oley, last working in 2009.

He ran the Bieber Soda Truck Route in the 1960's.

Clarence was a life member of the Oley Fire Company; Pikeville Sportsman Club and Friendship Hook & Ladder, Boyertown.

He was a member of the Oley Valley Fair Association; Oley American Legion and the Oley Valley Fish & Game.

Clarence volunteered for a number of years as a fire policeman with the Oley Fire Company, worked in the French Fry Stand at the former Oley Carnival and was co-chairman of the Oley Fair Candy Stand.

He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Fan, hunter and bowler, having bowled one 300 game.

Clarence is survived by six children: Ronald E., husband of Ena C. (Trout) of Lower Heidelberg Township; Shirley M. (Bieber), of Maidencreek Township; Marlin C., husband of Wendy L. (Rhoads), of Ruscombmanor Township; Ricky A., husband of Sharon (Taylor), of Ovilla, Texas; Carl L., husband of Margaret A. (Evans), of Exeter Township and Kevin D. Bieber of Oley Township.

Other survivors include two sisters: Betty, wife of Norman Ritter of Greshville and Kathy, wife of George McNally of Bernville.

There are also 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in Christ Lutheran Church, Spangsville, 325 Covered Bridge Road, Oley, Pa 19547. A viewing will be held Thursday from 9:30 - 11:00 am in the Church.

Burial will be in Oley Cemetery.
