Clarence M. Althouse

Clarence "Hans" Morris Althouse, 93, of 135 Lutz Road, (Greenwich Township)Kutztown, Pa 19530 died December 16th at 10:20 am in the Lutheran Home at Topton.

He was the husband of Shirley W. (Wertman) Althouse.

Born in Laureldale, he was a son of the late Edwin B. and Sally A. (Kaufman) Althouse.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Althouse was a co-owner for a number of years for the former Millers Lumber of Kutztown (now Berks Products).

He last worked as a manager of the Kutztown Division of Berks Products for 17 years until his retirement.

Althouse is also survived by a son, Edwin Althouse of Davidsonville, Maryland and a step-daughter, Renee (Kern) Schick of Kutztown.

Other survivors include two brothers, John of Laureldale and Harold of Douglassville.

There are also three sisters, Joan Althouse of Leesport, Anna (Althouse) Parzanese of Mount Penn and Helen (Althouse) Keller of St. Cloud, Florida.

He is also survived by four grandchildren.

Althouse was predeceased by a son, Hans L. Althouse.

Services will be Friday at 2:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewing 1:00 pm until time of service. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
