Sister Clare Chabot, OSF
Sister Clare Chabot, 79, of the Bernardine Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, died of natural causes, on Saturday morning, February 8, 2025, at St. Joseph Villa, Reading, PA, where she had resided since 2022.
Born in Saint Petersburg, FL, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Josephine "Jaye" (Moskal) Chabot.
Sister Clare entered the Bernardine Sisters on June 26, 1964, and was in her 61st year of religious life. Sister earned a BA degree in Education from Alvernia College and an M.Ed. in Special Education from Boston College. She served her ministry in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Liberia, West Africa as an elementary teacher, recreational therapist, retirement director, Women's Residence house manager, project manager, in parish ministry and as a local minister.
Sister is survived by the members of her Bernardine Franciscan Congregation. There are no surviving immediate family members.
Mass on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Villa Chapel, Reading, PA. Burial will be private in the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters' Cemetery, Mount Alvernia, Reading, PA.
The Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Reading, PA is in charge of arrangements.
