Claire R. Clark

Claire R. Clark, 94, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the loving wife of James T. Clark, who passed away in 2020.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Sophia (Stelma) Gantert. A 1948 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Claire had a long career as a bench hand for Lucent Technologies, putting in over 30 years before retiring in 1998.

Claire was a devoted and active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Mt. Penn.

Left to treasure her memory are nieces and nephews: Patricia Anne Clark Deines and Steven Wayne Clark, both of Grand Island, Nebraska, Denise Worrell, wife of Gary Worrell, of Columbia, Maryland, Diane Gossman, wife of Michael Gossman, of Georgetown, Delaware, Patti Snyder of Shillington, Deborah Mest, wife of David Mest, of Hamburg, and Phyllis McLaughlin, wife of Mark McLaughlin of Shillington. Claire is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews, both near and far, and many beloved friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings: Mary Anne Bitting, Raymond Gantert, and Donald Gantert.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 6:30 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:30 pm to the time of service. Interment will follow on Friday, May 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reading.

A Celebration of the Lives of Jim and Claire Clark will be held in the summer of 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church, gathering friends and family to honor this special couple and share memories. Please check back for updates.
