Christopher J. Nestler, 64, of Exeter, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was the widower of Kimmarie Elizabeth (Brown), the love of his life.
Born in Reading to the late Barry F. and Janet F. (Coller) Nestler, Christopher graduated from Reading High School in 1976. He went on to study at Alvernia College, and he was very proud to complete his master's degree in criminal justice. He graduated from the Reading Police Academy. He proudly served as an officer with the Fleetwood Police Department, the Mohnton Police Department, and he retired from the Limerick Police Department.
He had a dry sense of humor with a rapier wit which he particularly enjoyed utilizing to bust his brother's chops. He was a hyper intelligent man. He enjoyed traveling, especially through sweepstakes, and he was an avid bowler. His father, Barry, was a constant source of inspiration to him. Christopher treasured being a father and loved his son, Conner, dearly. Raising his son without his wife by his side was at times difficult, but he did the best he could to raise Conner to be a good man.
Christopher is survived by his and Kimmarie's only son, Conner Barry Nestler, of Exeter; his brother, Sheldon F. Nestler, widower of Emelyn Nestler, of Reading; and his nephews, Kane and Sheldon B. Nestler. Also surviving is Raina, Conner's pointer lab mix, who shared much companionship with Christopher.
In lieu of flowers, Christopher's wishes are for contributions in his memory to be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter, 600 Corporate Circle, Suite 103, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
Committal Services be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W Neversink Rd, Reading, PA 19606.
