Christine M. Knittle

Christine M. (Moyer) Knittle, 81 of Exeter Township, formerly of Shoemakersville died September 13, 2018 in her residence. Christine was the widow of Ray H. Knittle who died July 10, 2006.    She was born in West Reading and was the daughter of the late George H. and Carrie M. (Bitterman) Moyer. Christine was a 1955 graduate of Perry High School and graduated from Penn State in 1959. Christine obtained her M.Ed. from the former Kutztown State Teacher's College. She taught school in both Connecticut and Perry Elementary, Shoemakersville. Christine is survived by two daughters, Margaret A. and Melanie R. Knittle, Exeter Township.   She is also survived by a sister, Carol A. Bitner, Muhlenberg Township.  She was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine A. Moyer who died on February 21, 2003. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Christine was an avid competitive bridge player, achieving Life Master status with the American Contract Bridge League.  Services will be private with burial in St. Luke's Cemetery.
