Christine H. "Teeny" Kreider, 82, of Reading, passed away July 24, 2011 in Reading Hospital.

Her husband, Clifford E. Kreider, died in 1985.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Stella H. (Banishauskas) Strycharz.

She was a graduate of Reading High School in 1947.

Christine was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

She loved reading biography books and watching movies especially musicals and comedies.

Christine's favorite things were dogs, flowers, beaches and lighthouses. She enjoyed listening to the music of Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and Rod Stewart.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend; especially to her closest friends Gerry Westley and Anne Schweitzer.

Christine was especially proud to be a grandmom. She enjoyed seeing her granddaughter Kelly dance with Berks Ballet Theatre. She watched her grandson Michael race at Maple Grove and attended many of her grandson Bryan's soccer games.

Most of all Christine enjoyed being around her family during the holidays; Christmas was her favorite time of year.

She is survived by two children, Diane S., wife of Robert Barber, Douglassville and Ronald C., husband of Maria L. Kreider, Reading. There are three grandchildren, Kelly and Michael Barber and Bryan Kreider. Her sister-in-law, Christine Strycharz, MD; brother-in-law, Norman Kreider, Mt. Penn; and three nephews and two nieces also survive her.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
