Christine Marie Buck

Christine Marie Buck, 82, of Wyomissing, left our heavenly earth on March 27, 2025.

Chris was born in Detroit, MI, on November 22, 1942. She spent her childhood in Grosse Pointe, MI with her six siblings: David, Alan, Rita, Ruth, Paul, and Louise. On July 5, 1969, she married her husband of 55 years, Jack Buck. Chris had communities of wonderful friends in Columbus and Youngstown, Ohio, Louisville, KY and Wyomissing, PA. She received her B.S. in French and English from Western Michigan University in 1964 and her M.S. in French and English Literature from the University of Michigan in 1968. She was a sister in the Delta Theta Chapter of the Alpha Phi sorority at Western. After concluding her studies, she pursued her calling of teaching high school French and English, and finally, Kindergarten French at the Yocum Institute in Wyomissing in her retirement. Chris was an avid golfer and a member of several country clubs: Oakhurst in Columbus; Fonderlac in Youngstown; Hunting Creek in Louisville; and Moselem Springs and The Berkshire in Wyomissing. She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.

Chris is survived by her husband, Jack; daughter, Amy Namdar (Ryan) and much-loved grandchildren, Chase Henry and Penelope Charlotte Namdar, of New York City; and her siblings Paul (Margaret) of Drummond Island, MI and Rita (Sr. Mary Alan Stuart) of Adrian, MI.

She was predeceased by her cherished siblings Louise, David, Alan, and Ruth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday April 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, with interment at Gethsemane Cemetery to follow. The viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
