Christine L. Bender

Christine L. Bender, 53, of McAdoo, died May 13, 2011 in the Mountain City Nursing Home, Hazelton.

She was the wife of Jacob G. Bender.

Born in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Hedwig (Gudel) Bobeck.

Christine was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School and Luzerne County Community College Nursing School.

She worked as an R.N. for Hazelton General Hospital, retiring in 2010.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Steven J. Bender, Harrisburg; her daughter, Jesse M. Bender, McAdoo; her brother, Walter Bobeck, Edwardsville and her sisters, Elizabeth Savukinas, Cape Vincent, NY and Patricia Cordisco, Lancaster. Also surviving is her grandson, Anthony Vincent.

Services will be Wednesday at 12 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. A viewing will be 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
