Christ Sianis

Christ Sianis, 95, of Wyomissing, died November 8, 2012 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was the loving husband of Mary (Lamprinos) Sianis, whom he married 66 years ago.

He was a son of the late James and Fotine (Geras) Sianis. Born in Samos, Greece, he and his family emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1920's.

He attended the Reading School District and had a certification in Textile Engineering from Penn State University. He also studied Industrial Engineering and Economics at Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

Christ was employed by Textile Machine Works, Rockwell International and Arrow International as a Market Development Manager. He retired in 1980.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in the European and Asiatic Theaters during WWII.

Christ was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. He was the president of the parish council for the years 1968, 1969 and 1970 during the construction of the present edifice. He also served a total of 15 years on the parish council.

He was a member of the G.A.P.A, C.B.I. Veterans Association and T.P. Association.

Christ was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Sandra, wife of Evan Zervanos, West Lawn and Kathy, wife of James Rohm, Sinking Spring. Also surviving are his siblings: William Sianis, Reading and Stella Morris, Florida. Five grandchildren: Michael Zervanos, Christopher Zervanos, Stephen Zervanos, Elizabeth Wadsworth, John Rohm and 11 great-grandchildren also survive him.

He was predeceased by two brothers: John Sianis and Gus Sianis.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at the address above. Edward J.
