Chester Labus, 86, died September 9, 2011 in his Spring Township residence.
He was the husband of Anna Mae (Banas) Labus. They were married 64 years.
Born June 2, 1925 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Budzichowski) Labus.
Chester was a 1943 graduate of Northeast High School and a 1949 graduate of Temple University where he received a B.S. in marketing.
He was employed as a branch manager and fleet account executive with International Harvester, retiring in 1987.
Chester was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
He was a highly decorated veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theatre during World War II, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In addition to his wife, Chester is survived by four children: Marianne, wife of Frank Wildemann of Marlton, NJ: Karen, wife of Craig Zerr of Fleetwood, PA; Joanne, wife of Andy Weiss of Shaker Heights, OH and Chester, Jr., husband of Krista Labus of Houston, TX.
Other survivors include a brother Richard Labus.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Brian Kelley, Jason, husband of Stephanie Kelley, Amanda (Kelley), wife of Kyle Hawver, Eric Weiss, Marc Weiss, Justin Wildemann, Chester Labus, III and Ian Labus.
Chester was predeceased by a brother, Edward Labus.
Services will be private at the preference of the family; immediate family only.
