Chester Hadley, 84, of Cumru Township, died June 4th at 7:30 pm in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been since May 11th.
He was the husband of Marie H. (Mackowiak) Hadley.
Hadley was predeceased by his first wife, Helen S. (Saad) Hadley, who died December 16, 1985.
Born in Merrimack, New Hampshire, he was a son of the late Francis and Lucretia (Henderson) Hadley.
He was a 1936 graduate of Merrimack High School and a 1952 graduate of MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Hadley was a retired Lt. Col. pilot with the Air Force Reserves, retiring in 1990.
He was also an Army Air Corp. Veteran of WWII serving as a pilot in the Pacific Theater.
Hadley was a 32nd degree Mason, Wyomissing.
He was employed for 20 years as a metallurgist engineering manager at Kawecki-Berylco, Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1985.
Hadley is also survived by a son, David C. Hadley of Allentown and a daughter, Carol A. (Hadley) Haag of Mohnton.
Other survivors include a sister, Persis (Hadley) Parker of Pelham, New Hampshire.
There are also two grandchildren, Sean M. Haag and Lisa M. Haag.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at the Berks County Memorial Gardens. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
