Chester L. Galczynski, 82, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away September 17, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
He was the husband of Mary F. (Lindinger) Galczynski, whom he married almost 59 years ago on September 25, 1954.
Born November 6, 1930 in Reading, he was a son of the late George and Helen (Matysuek) Galczynski.
Chester was a machinist and worked for Rockwell International for over 32 years, retiring in October of 1992.
He was a member of the Evergreen Country Club, Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society and the Reading Liederkranz.
Chester was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Michael J., husband of Stephanie E. Galczynski, Muhlenberg Township and their two children: Marc. C. Galczynski and Mary E. Galczynski, both at home. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Chester was predeceased by his four brothers: Adam, Walter, Stanley and Theodore and his two sisters: Lottie and Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Hyde Park. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.Box 15120 Chicago, IL 60693 or Berks Visiting Nurses Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd Wyomissing, PA 19610.
