Charlotte E. Trathen

Charlotte E. Trathen, 91, of Longswamp Township and formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died January 13, 2009 in the Henry Health Center at the Lutheran Home at Topton.

She was the widow of Robert D. Trathen who died October, 1984.

Born September 28, 1917 in Gordon, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Charlotte Mae (Rice) Trommetter.

Charlotte was a 1935 graduate of Gordon High School. She also attended Bloomsburg Teacher's College.

She was employed as a teacher for a number of years.

Surviving is a daughter Cathy (Trathen) Russell of Muhlenberg Township.

Other survivors include four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was predeceased by a daughter, Roberta (Trathen) Parris, who died May 16, 1998 and two sisters, Anna (Trommetter) Hoffman and Edna (Trommetter) Reichwein.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 322 Nisbet St. N.W., Jacksonville, AL. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, AL.
