Charlotte R. S. Ruyak, 84, of Wyomissing Hills, died February 18, 2007 in St. Joseph's Hospital where she had been for 2 days. She died of complications from congestive heart failure.

She was the wife of Joseph T. Ruyak since 1979. Her first husband Dr. Paul F. Stanton died February 13, 1966 in a plane crash.

Born in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Harrison and Elsie (Riffel) Rockerfeller.

Charlotte graduated from Sunbury High School and thereafter attended the Margaret J. Morrison School in Pittsburgh and Moore College of Art , Philadelphia. She met Dr. Stanton in Philadelphia, where they were married in 1944.

She was a charter member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield and was a volunteer worker at Caron Hospital, Wernersville for more than 25 years.

She is survived by one son, William R. Stanton, Oley and 4 daughters, Dr. Elizabeth L. Stanton, Breinigsville, Carol M. Stanton, Fleetwood, Anne L. (Stanton) Gerber, Allentown and Elaine F. Stanton, Asheville, NC. She is also survived by one sister, Helen S. (Rockerfeller) Lehman, Northumberland. Two step-sons, Joseph T. Ruyak, Jr, Villanova and Rev. Mark A. Ruyak, Mill Valley, CA and five grandchildren also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the Mass at the church.
