Charles Clarence Zimmerman, 80, of Muhlenberg Township, died November 3, 2014 in The Reading Hospital Medical Center.
He was the husband of Ilse M.M. (Barth) Zimmerman, whom he married September 5, 1956. Born November 17, 1933 in Leesport, he was a son of the late Howard and Sally (Noll) Zimmerman.
Charles worked for Rockwell International as a quality control specialist. He also was the proprietor of Charlie's Service Station on the corner of 5th and Spruce Sts. for 9 years. Charles retired from Lucent Technology in 1993.
He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman.
Charles enjoyed traveling, going out to dinner, spending time with his grandchildren and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Rosita M., wife of Michael K. Miller and his son, Tom H. Zimmerman, all of Womelsdorf. He is also survived by his three sisters: MaryAnn Seaman of Laureldale, Esther Nagle of Mohnton, and Hazel Orchowski of Royersford; and his three brothers: James Zimmerman of Topton, Paul Zimmerman of Reading, and Jackson Zimmerman of Douglassville. There are also two grandchildren surviving, Ethan Miller and Emiley Miller.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kelcie C. Zimmerman, who passed away May 6, 2014; his brothers: Eli, John and Lester Zimmerman; and his sister, Katie Ressler.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., Laureldale.
