Charles H. Ziegler

Charles H. Ziegler, 82, died March 29, 2011 in his Wyomissing residence.

He was the husband of Betty L. (Keffer) Ziegler. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 18.

Born in Port Carbon, he was the son of the late Charles H., Sr. and Nella M. (Brown) Ziegler.

He was a graduate of West Reading High School in 1946 and served his country for two years in the U.S. Army. Following his military stint, he earned his BS in Accounting from Albright College in 1952.

Charlie was a supervisor of manufacturing for Talbot Knitting Mills for 23 years, and later was the building supervisor for Stevens and Lee until his retirement.

He was a member of St. James Church, West Reading, where he served in many capacities throughout his life, including past superintendent of both the Sunday School and the Consistory; he remained active until his death.

Charlie had been a member of the West Reading School Board.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl L. Ziegler-Greer, wife of John Greer, Cayuga, NY; Wendie L. Ziegler, wife of Paul Wolf, Mt. Penn and Karen L., wife of Kevin Allison, Mechanicsburg. There is one sister, Charlotte V., wife of David Bechtel, Camillus, NY. Seven grandchildren, Marshall, Mackenzie, Rachel, Emmy, Colleen, Michael and Heather also survive him.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. James Church, 644 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
