Charles P. "Butch" Wolf, III, 67, of Whitfield, died January 24, 2012, in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Cindy A. (Schlegel) Wolf. They were married for 34 years on September 10.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles P., Jr. and Grace (Boucher) Wolf.

He was a 1961 graduate of Reading High School.

Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Forrestal and Shangri-La.

He was employed as a shift coordinator by Carpenter Technology for 29 years, retiring on November 30, 2002. After his retirement, he worked part-time as a security guard at New Directions, West Reading.

Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending vacations at the beach with his family.

He will be remembered as a loving, silly guy with a great sense of humor. He loved cowboy movies, especially John Wayne films.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Megan J. Wolf, Sinking Spring and Kasey L., wife of Brad R. Binder, West Lawn; his brother, David A., husband of Cathy E. Wolf, Wyomissing; and three grandchildren, Colin and Ava Binder; and Brooke Wolf.

Charles was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine Cheri.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday at noon in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
