Charles W. Williams, Sr., 59, of Reading died July 23, 2007 at 7:14 PM in the Reading Hospital where he had been a patient since July 19th.

Charles was the husband of Susan L. (Bair) Williams whom he married June 15, 1991.

Born February 4, 1948 in Coatesville he was a son to the late Chester and Betty (Price) Williams.

Charles was a 1965 graduate of Scott High School, now Coatesville High School, where he played football for the Red Raiders. He also attended Trinidad University, CO and Millersville State College, Millersville.

Charles volunteered daily at St. Margaret's School. He was a football coach for Northwest Athletic Association as well as Lancaster County Little League. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and softball player.

Charles was employed by Yellow Freight, East Petersburg as a truck driver for 34 years, retiring in 2005.

He served as an officer for Teamsters Local 771, Lancaster and was a member of Mill Creek Rod and Gun Club, Newmanstown and Keystone Hunting Camp, WV.

Charles was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Charles Williams, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Victor W. Brown of Sinking Spring; Anthony M. Brown of Honeybrook; and Alysia N. Brown of Reading.

Other survivors include four siblings, Richard Grant, Chicago, IL; Thomas Williams, Norristown; David Williams, Reading; and Susan Williams, Annapolis, MD.

There are also six grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Margaret's R.C. Church, 925 Center Ave., Reading, PA 19601, with Father John M. Gibbons celebrating. A viewing will be held in the church an hour and a half prior to mass. The Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Margaret's School Scholarship Fund, 233 Spring Street, Reading, PA 19601.
