Charles "Charlie" C. Turner, 87 of Tilden Township passed away Monday, December 28th, 2015 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Krommes) Turner. They celebrated 66 years of marriage on October 1, 2015. He was born in Rocktown, Tilden Township and was the son of the late Clayton D. and Marion (Miller) Turner. Charlie was a 1947 graduate of Hamburg High School. Charles worked as a carpenter for Howard Phillips and Howard D. Ernst for many years. Later, he would work as a self-employed general contractor last working 8 years ago. He enjoyed working; his favorite job was putting on new house roofs. He was a hard worker and took good care of his family. Charles was a quiet man who enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. In his later years he enjoyed making Christmas cookies and candy with his family. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting with his children, especially his son Mark. They enjoyed hunting trips to South Carolina. Charles was a charter member of the Blue Mountain Muzzle Loading Rifle Assn., Inc. He was a member of Union Fire Company #1, Hamburg and Central Berks Fire Company, #1 and the N.R.A. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Kathleen A. (Turner) Ketchledge, Orwigsburg, Sharon K. (Turner) wife of Carl W. Reinsel, Richmond Township; one son, Mark Turner, Tilden Township. Additionally Charlie is survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer S. (Hiester) wife of Jeffrey A. Roe, Blandon and Zachary M. Althouse, North Hollywood, California; and a great-grandson, Aiden J. Roe. Charles was predeceased by a daughter, Susan A. (Turner) Althouse. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Township.
