Charles T. Arentz, 70, of Reading, died June 25, 2011 in Phoebe Berks.

He was the husband of Louise A. (Masters) Arentz who died March 2, 2007.

Born June 22, 1941 in Reading, he was a son of the late James G. and Catherine (LaVelle) Arentz.

Charles was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1960.

He was employed as an accounting clerk with Metropolitan Edison Company for 20 years, retiring in 1996.

Charles was a baseball and basketball coach. He was a member of East Reading Athletic Association.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Reading.

Charles was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea. He was also a Merchant Marine.

He is survived by his son, Ted Arentz of Reading and his brother, John W. Arentz of Wyomissing.

He was predeceased by his brother, James A. Arentz.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A viewing will be held 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
