Charles J. Sapovits

Charles J. Sapovits, 97, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Keystone Villa, Ephrata. He was the husband of the late Ann Elizabeth (Welch) Sapovits. They shared many wonderful years together.

Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Charles J. Sapovits, Sr. and Mabel (Ewald) Sapovits. Charles graduated with a bachelor's degree from Weidner University. He went on to work as a microbiologist at Merck from 1949-1986.

Left to treasure his memory are his three children: Thomas (Laura) Sapovits, Susan (Gary) Rhoads, and Cathy Duerbeck, widow of Mike; seven grandchildren: Nicholas, Kristin, Michael, Kelley, Todd, Jeremy, and Erica; four great-grandchildren: Hadden, Kelsey, Aubrey, and Chase; and two brothers, Kenneth and Phillip Sapovits.

Charles was predeceased by his sister, Jane Zappo.

Private inurnment will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
