Charles F. Russo

Charles F. Russo, 89, of Wyomissing, passed away June 1, 2009 in Reading Hospital.

His wife, Mary I. (Donatelli) Russo, died February 5, 2002.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria J. (Torcivia) Russo.

He was employed for a total of 50 years, working at the Berkshire Hotel, Western Electric, and the Berkshire Country Club. He retired in 1997.

Charlie was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII as a member of the 10th Armored Division. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Charlie is survived by four children: Anthony C. (Chuck), husband of Linda Russo, Fleetwood; Mary Jo Marabella, Exeter Township; Ann, wife of Vince Paolini, Wyomissing and Kathleen R., wife of Robert (Ned) Jackson, Spring Township. There is one sister, Rose (Rach) Fritz, Kenhorst; as well as five grandchildren, Angela Marabella, Matthew Russo, Zachary Russo, Stephen Paolini and Erin Paolini.

Charlie was predeceased by three brothers, Tony, Sam and Santo and one sister, Jennie Fonti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 237 Franklin St., Reading, PA 19602. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Friends may call Saturday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church at the above address.
