Charles W. Randall

Charles W. "Jake" Randall, 90, died at Reading Hospital on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, after a short illness.

He was the husband of Audrey L. (Greenough) Randall; they celebrated their 70th anniversary this October.

Born in Roaring Branch, PA, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Marjorie (Campbell) Randall,

Jake graduated from Canton High School in 1947, attended Mansfield Teachers' College, and graduated from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI, earning his degree in Music Education.

He was a music teacher for 20 years directing both elementary and high school bands, and teaching nearly every instrument, including the saxophone, clarinet, guitar, trumpet, and trombone. Jake retired from the Seventh-day Adventist Church World Headquarters in Silver Spring, MD in 1998.

Jake was a member of the Hampden Heights (Reading) Seventh-day Adventist Church and a man of great Christian faith, dying in hope of the Resurrection.

He was somewhat of a Renaissance Man. In addition to music, he loved birds, nature, and the outdoors. Jake was known for his construction skills and even built three homes mostly by himself. When he was younger, he enjoyed electronic models and stereo systems. Most of all, family was the epicenter of his life, and his loving relationship with Audrey from the beginning was an inspiration to all family and friends.

In addition to his wife Audrey, Jake is survived by his daughters, Toni (Matthew) Wlasniewski, Hamburg and Vickie (David) Bugg, Hagerstown, MD and his son, Gary (Linda Adams) Randall, Cascade, MD. He leaves behind six loving grandchildren: Andy, Nicholas, Alexis, Nathan, Caitlyn, and Zachary, and seven great-grandchildren. His sister, Lucille Mase, also survives him.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Joanne Gardner and Robert Randall.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg is honored to assist the Randall family. Condolences may be expressed at www.burkeydriscollfuneralhome.com.
