Charles H. Neidert Sr.

Charles H. Neidert, Sr., 92, formerly of West Reading, died April 17, 2016 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown.

His wife, Rita C. (Gehringer) Neidert died July 8, 1999.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Leo A. and Anna E. (Noll) Neidert.

Charles was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the 3rd Division of the European Theatre during WWII.

He worked for Brush Wellman Inc. as a furnace operator for 31 years, retiring in 1987.

He is survived by five children: Barbara A. Neidert-Hallman, Allentown; Nancy J., wife of Kirk Baumener, Spring Township; Charles H., Jr. husband of Hilda; Scott W., husband of Beth, all of Lancaster and Christopher L., Wyomissing. Thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive him.

Charles was predeceased by four siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery with entombment to follow.
