Charles Wilson Kunkle, 86 of Shoemakersville died Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Reading. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Leatrice (Berger) Kunkle of Bern Township. Charles was born June 14, 1928 in Shoemakersville where he resided his entire life. His parents, His parents, Walter and Helen (Koenig) Kunkle predeceased him. He was a 1946 graduate of Perry High School and an active member of the Hamburg Community Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Tilden Township and loved the Lord and his Church Family. He was employed for 36 years as a metal worker for Dana Corporation and retired in 1986. After retirement, he enjoyed his favorite job, which was working part-time for Peter's Brothers Meats, Lenhartsville. Charles enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, golfing, yard work, traveling, sightseeing and especially spending time with family and friends. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by a daughter, Diane (Skip) Littwin, Hummelstown; son, Alan (Sandra) Kunkle, West lawn; son, Stephen, (Companion Melissa Levan), Bernville; granddaughter, Stacey (Gary) and great granddaughter, Alexandra Hawkins, Sinking Spring; and step-granddaughter, Monica Sechler and Family, Strausstown. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26th at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg, PA. A viewing will be held on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Township. Online condolences may be expressed at www.burkeydriscoll.com
