Charles H. Schlottman

Charles H. Schlottman, 85, formerly of Sheidy Avenue, Riverview Park, died April 2 at 9:10 p.m. in Kinkora Pythian Nursing Home, Duncannon, Perry County, where he had resided since Nov. 25, 1998.

His wife, Florence (Wentzel) Schlottman, died May 19, 1981.

Born in Muhlenberg Township, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Bessie (Kunkelman) Schlottman.

Schlottman had been employed for 32 years in maintenance by the Old Reading Brewery, and later for three years by Kutztown State College, retiring in 1981.

He was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Hyde Park.

Schlottman was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was former secretary of the Brewery Workers Union Local 198.

Schlottman, who resided with Ruby M. Schildt, is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Schlottman) Reifsnyder, Duncannon, and two sons, Charles H., Whitehall, Lehigh County, and Barry L., Manheim, Lancaster County.

There are also six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
